Tet Nguyen Dan
The Vietnamese New Year
February, 2002

FCV families celebrated Tet at the various Vietnamese Community celebrations in the area.  Events included the Tet Fair and Dinner at TC Williams High School in Arlington, VA, the Vietnamese New Year Tet Celebration at the Arlington Mill Community Center in Arlington, VA and the Tet Fair at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD.

On a more personal note, the Wittle Family was kind enough to invite many FCV members into their home for a great Tet party, which was so much fun for everyone.  It included a "firecracker room," crafts, wonderful Vietnamese food, and educational information so the uninitiated could learn more about the Vietnamese New Year.  In addition, they went the extra mile by providing us with photos of the event for our website.  Thanks Again!
Tet is a great opportunity to wear fancy Vietnamese clothes.
The craft projects were also fun.  Here we are making dragons.
We also loved the noisy
firecracker room.
We played with all kinds of toys both inside and outside.
And the most important part of Tet... paying tribute to our families.
