Celebrating our Children's Citizenship
March 2001
INS official administers the oath of allegiance to new citizens.

Our citizenship party was held in celebration of the Child Citizenship Act, which automatically made many of our children citizens on February 27, 2001.  INS officials joined us in the big celebration, which was attended by 120 people.  Forty-five children took the oath of allegiance as a group and were awarded commemorative certificates by our FCV chapter.  It was a very festive occasion.  The Boy and Girl Scouts led us in a Flag ceremony, and there was lot of  food, cupcakes with flags, and a clown!  It also was very noisy, but a lot of fun!!!!  Many, many children made their FCV debut at this event.
